Meet Anglers Only's new sister brand, Calusa Apparel

Bit of news from Anglers Only HQ…

We’ve just launched a new sister brand. 

It’s called Calusa and it’s all about laid-back, sun-protective clothing & accessories made from natural fibres and sustainable materials. Still built for the outdoors, same no fuss design and proper comfort, just in an even-more-wear-it-anywhere-and-also-available-in-women's-sizes kind of way.

First up is the Zephyr, a range of long-sleeve UPF40 T-shirts for both men and women, made with ultra-soft bamboo.

Alongside that we've got a range of sustainably made sunglasses, featuring bamboo and wooden frames.

Why Calusa and why now?

Well, here's the thing. Over the last year, some of our most popular gear has been our sun-protective performance range. We like to think that's because our Fender and Aegis tops are a) pretty awesome and b) a lot more affordable than similar stuff on the market. We wanted to build on that.

It's also true that a healthy proportion of our orders come from our customers' very generous wives and girlfriends. Some of those fine womenfolk have often expressed an interest in our gear, saying they'd wear it themselves if we did it in women's sizes.

So we did. And Calusa is the result.

We decided this new gear needed its own, distinct identity. After all, we do appreciate that as much as many of your other halves enjoy stealing your AO swag, not all of them are comfortable wearing fishing-related stuff!

As for the name Calusa? Well, that's the name of the beach in Florida where my wife and got engaged many years ago, and seeing as this is very much our joint project, it seemed fitting.
