Unsurprisingly, we’re pretty well known for our fishing hoodies here at Anglers Only. If you’ve bought an Anglers Only hoodie in the past, you’ll notice a difference the next time you grab one.

You’re going to notice our new blank is thicker, the sizing is slightly roomier and the trims and details are all just that little bit more premium.

Now, at this point I should clarify that we’re talking about our standard hoodies here, not our Superchunk hoodie. The Superchunk is an intentionally boxy and oversized fit, made with a very chunky heavyweight material.

Our standard hoodies are all the other ones. The ones you might consider a classic fit. These are the ones we’ve changed. We think you’ll agree it was worth doing.

It started with the fabric

One of the most common requests we’ve had over the years was for a slightly heavier, more substantial hoodie. Not bulky. Not oversized. Just something that feels a bit more solid and premium.

We measure fabric weight using GSM (grams per square metre). Our previous hoodies were 280 GSM. The new blank is 320 GSM. That extra weight makes a real difference. It feels warmer, more durable, and better suited to the way most of us actually wear fishing hoodies, especially outdoors.

A better fit, not a different one

We didn’t want to reinvent the fit. Instead, we made a small adjustment - adding just a little more room compared to our previous stock; a bit more ease across the chest and shoulders. It’s still a classic, everyday cut. Just more comfortable, especially when layered over a tee and/or base layer.

Details, details, details…

The final part of the upgrade was the small stuff. We’ve moved to a chunkier drawstring with metal tips, strengthened the cuffs and hem, and improved the structure of the hood. None of these changes scream for attention, but together they add up to a hoodie that feels tougher, more refined and built to last.

Price change

This new hoodie blank does cost us more to make, so we’ll have to charge a bit more. But the feedback we kept hearing was that people would rather invest slightly more in something that genuinely feels better made.
